happynewyear

Well, it's the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013. Again, I want to thank my friends and acquaintances and fans for all of the great attention I've garnered this past year.

I still cannot believe I've gotten more than 100,000 views ... I originally just started writing and drawing to satisfy my warped little needs and express a side of myself that sometimes is just busting to get out.

I hope your 2012 was kind to you and that 2013 is amazing. Best wishes to all and to all a good night!

happyholidays

I know, this is a repost, but I think it's still kinda cute!

It's Christmas eve and all is quiet.  Tomorrow will be hectic and joyous for many, sad and stressful for others.  If you're sad and stressed -- or know someone who is -- take a moment to take a deep breath, find your happy place ... and try to find some peace and contentment.

And if all else fails, come visit my secret garden and get lost for a least a little while.  Life is way too short to be miserable ... which is what my site is all about.

Peace and prosperity, my dear friends ... and please be safe!

Daphne

I've posted this picture once before, when my dear friend and correspondent Andrea passed away years ago.
Something to cry about by Daphnesecretgarden
I didn't think I'd need it again, but this how I've felt since last friday.

Sometimes a good cry can do wonders.  And sometimes a good cry is just a good cry.

EDIT:  Sorry if I'm a little vague ... last friday's shooting of the little children ... it's hard for me to take.  I didn't want to make a huge deal of it, so this is my way of grieving publicly.

Soooo, I guess it's time to declare a winner in our crossdressing coloring contest.   I hate to do it, not because I don't want anybody to win; it's just kind of difficult as I think everyone who took part won something.  We've got all ranges of talent, different story lines, varying styles and all kinds of fun!  I don't want it to end, but hey, everything comes to an end sometime, doesn't it?

And yes, I'd love for it to keep on going, but the truth is the momentum is slowing.  So let's get on with it, okay, so we can get started on the next project, whatever that might be!

The entry with the most comments and the most view is :iconsandybelldf: with 119 comments and 4,641 views on her entry :thumb306408385:  Very nice!

Sandy is no stranger to dA and is an accomplished cartoonist with a huge repertoire of art, stories and publications.   Her results speak for themselves.

Second place is :iconemeraldcage: with 55 comments and 3,735 views for her entry Colouring Contest by EmeraldCage

Laura's take was heartfelt and emotional; she used this entry as a platform to make a positive statement about gender issues and made a lot of friends in the process.

Both of these entries were right in line with what I was hoping would happen; they were fun, entertaining, creative and expressive.  Plus, I just thought it was neat to see everybody's differing points of view.

Oh, and when you get the chance take a look at the entries. daphnesecretgarden.deviantart.… Please, be sure to stop by and say something nice to the artists while you're at it.  They really like the attention and praise, and they're all open to constructive criticism.

If you get the chance, make sure to drop :iconchildprodigy7: a note thanking him for the wonderful art that we all got to enjoy!  Haley is so kind and thoughtful, and his art is soooo wonderful ... I think he's the best!

Don't know what I'm talking about and want to see what all the fuss is about?  Check out the rules daphnesecretgarden.deviantart.… and if you feel like it, give us your take on our fun little game!  Just be sure to send me a note and I'll put it in my gallery for everyone to see and admire!

Again, a huge Thank You to everyone who took part, either as an artist or a patron.

While I'm at it, I also want to thank everybody for visiting my silly little secret garden.  When I first started posting here on dA I never thought I'd get this much attention, nor would I make so many wonderful friends and characters.  I'm a huge fan of dA and I feel fortunate to have found this forum to display my art, tell my stories and find so much inspiration.

Be safe, my friends, and keep in touch!

OMG!!!!  People ... we are now up to THIRTEEN FREAKIN' ENTRIES daphnesecretgarden.deviantart.… in our crossdressing coloring contest!

Can you believe it?  I mean, I can't ... I thought maybe a few would take a shot at it, but this is wonderful!:wow:

And it's not just the number of entries, but I'm truly impressed by the diverse and creative nature of what is coming in.  Just when you think someone can't be topped, along comes something that makes you go WOW!!!!

One of the most interesting comes from :icond-eon: who came up with :thumb309623423:

We've also some very basic and amateurish entries.  I encourage everyone to be supportive and loving in their responses.  Taking that first step is often difficult and scary ... and putting your art out there for everyone to take pot shots at it is horribly humbling.  :wow:

Again, thanks sooooo much to all who've been involved and another big hug to everyone for their support and comments.

Want to see what all the fuss is about?  Check out the fav.me/d513fe1 and join in the fun!!!!
